AI Agent for Chemical Compliance

The biggest bottleneck in chemical compliance has always been the Safety Data Sheet. Every SDS holds critical regulatory information, but pulling it out was manual, slow, inconsistent and limited to a handful of fields. Quadshift's extraction agent now ingests a PDF SDS and pulls roughly 120 to 130 structured data points into a unified database automatically, at the moment of ingestion, with greater speed and accuracy than ever before. That turned one of the industry's worst bottlenecks into a data advantage: a richer dataset, faster onboarding, and a measurably more valuable product.

On top of that dataset sits Rex, the platform's regulatory-expert AI agent. Customers ask questions in plain language across the entire SDS library: find a safer substitute for a product, predict what happens if two chemicals are spilled together, flag any inventory sitting over a regulatory threshold, or identify a product from a photo. Rex can also take a photo of a spilled chemical and return a combined cleanup plan with identified substances, required PPE and disposal instructions, complete with confidence levels, plus generate Exposure Control Plans and safe-work procedures. Prompt-caching work cut its system-prompt cost by roughly 10x, so the economics scale with usage. Rex is being rolled out across the customer base in 2026.

Rex is the visible tip of a family of agents doing the heavy lifting behind the product. A renewals agent autonomously searches the web for newer SDS versions, learns to navigate manufacturer sites, and emails a request when it cannot find one. A version-comparison agent surfaces exactly what changed between an old and new SDS with no human review. Authoring skills reformat a finished SDS into any customer's required layout with zero manual edits, and a request-automation flow lets a customer photograph products, has AI identify the chemicals (even unlabeled containers), and auto-creates the tickets, folders and spreadsheets to fulfill the request.

That same vision approach also speeds onboarding by photographing products to auto-retrieve their Safety Data Sheets. This was never just an internal efficiency play. It is a direct, compounding product upgrade.

By the numbers: ~120-130 data points extracted per SDS · Rex AI agent live · renewals agent finding 60%+ of SDSs.
